lock keys inquiry

i bought a used set of saddlebags from a 99 Royal Star. The locks work and are unlocked but i didn't get any keys. can a locksmith change the wafers in the lock? i'd like to get it keyed to my current key.

No need to bring it to the locksmith. Check out YT for a video on how you can adjust the wafers just follow it step by step.

Yep, a locksmith can rekey the saddlebags to match your current key, as long as the key fits in the lock even if it doesn't turn. They'll swap or file the wafers to match, hope the locks aren't too worn, are you trying to match the ignition key ? @VenomGhost888

Yep a typical locksmith can definitely re-key the locks by changing the wafers so they match your current key, just bring the saddlebags and your key in and they'll sort it out. Shouldn't be too pricey too.

Again, I don't think it's going to cost much if you guys just take a moment to actually learn about your Star and figure out how to be a mechanic of your own from YT videos.
