Sissy bar won't budge

I'm trying to take my sissy bar off my 2008 XV1900 Roadliner to give the fender some good cleaning.
It has the quick release setup that came with the bike. I can clearly see the cam lock and I've flipped it through both of its positions.
I've given the bar decent bumps to slide it forward and up, but it's just stuck!
I'm putting enough force already that I'm afraid I might break something. Like the whole bike is moving but the bar just won't budge.
Anyone else ran into this on their Roadliner? Any advice?

I've had similar issues with mine, and yeah, it can get stuck pretty bad sometimes. might be rust affecting the cam lock or grime building up in the mechanism, maybe spray some penetrating oil around the lock and give it a few more taps, gently

Yeah that's quite common with older quick release setups. It does get stuck over time. Agree with @Malone.fan here on being a Malone fan and on the penetrating oil thing. Go add it on the latch and mounts then let it soak.

Shoot some penetrating lube down into the cam lock and mounting points, let it sit a bit, then wiggle it side to side while applying upward pressure, don't yank it straight. Worst case, the rubber grommets might've mushroomed or dry rotted and need replacing, but you should be able to get it off without breaking anything
