So, I was watching this V-Twin teardown video the other day, and it got me thinking – which way do Yamaha V-Twin engines actually spin? Like, if you're standing on the right side of the bike and looking at the motor, is it spinning clockwise?

I tried digging around online for an answer but couldn't find anything solid. So, I thought I'd throw it out here, does anyone know for sure? I'd love to get some clarity on this.

Yamaha V Twin engines typically spin clockwise when viewed from the right side of the bike, which is the standard for most motorcycles. If youre standing on the right and looking at the engine, it should rotate in a clockwise direction. This helps with the bike's handling and drivetrain setup. If you want to be 100% sure for a specific model, checking the service manual or manufacturer specs is always a good idea..

Have you tried rotating the rear wheel in gear to see which direction the engine turns that might give you a clear answer without needing to tear into it?

Yamaha V-Twin engines actually spin counterclockwise when viewed from the right side of the bike, but many riders assume clockwise, so relying on memory can easily lead to mistakes during maintenance
