my carbs did not flood before. i put in new float needles and seats and now they flood. i want to check if it's the float height before I buy new needles and seats. i know there's a wet float height method, but I don't have the patience for it. i have heard people set it on the bench too. 28 mm carbs on a 1998 Royal Star Tour Deluxe 1300. Thanks.

I've checked it out, it's between 8 to 9 mm

Yep, that bench method works fine on those. If you’re seeing flooding after new needles, Make sure to recheck float height. Make sure the floats aren’t hanging up on the bowl gasket, that happens more than people think.
