vstar 1100 any body have fix for high rpm on long highway drive. 75mph 4500rpm. i want to change gear ratio.are gears avalible. love the bike. its a 2001 built when speed limit was 55 so it screams at todays fast highway speeds

Its kinda normal I guess, it does run high RPM at highway speeds since it was made for lower limits. If you want, you can try to change the final drive ratio by swapping the front or rear sprockets or get different gears, but parts can be limited so that would work if you find them. Many owners upgrade sprockets to lower RPM for smoother cruising. You can also try to check in with Yamaha dealers or aftermarket suppliers for available options

Yeah I get what you mean. The older VStars weren't built for modern highway speeds. You can find aftermarket sprockets for the gear ratio and the RPMs. What you need to do is change the rear sprocket for a bigger one. That's all.

What site did you find those aftermarket gears

You might also consider a taller rear sprocket or a different belt drive pulley setup. Its worth checking with specialized Yamaha or cruiser parts suppliers for available options
