Curious when do you use your high beams while riding?

The other night, I was cruising home on some backroads when a deer suddenly jumped in front of me. Thankfully, I had my high beams on and saw it just in time. It got me thinking about how each of us uses our headlights so differently.

I know some riders who keep their high beams on all day for better visibility, while others only switch them on at night or when they're in the country. I have my own routine, but I'm really curious, when do you use your high beams? Is it during the day? Only at night? Or just in specific situations? And what's your reasoning for that?

I'm not trying to spark a debate here, I'm just interested in what works for you and why. Let's keep the conversation friendly and respectful

I save my high beam for its intended purpose on unlit roads at night. For daytime visibility I find an electronic headlight modulator provides a much more effective visual signature to other drivers than just a static high beam. Have you already upgraded the stock headlight bulb on your bike to an LED?

i dont think the voltage regulator or the alternator love this thing,,,,On and OFF like this!!
Why? Not trying to start a fight, just interested in why you think so.

@piperumblesociety22 Glad you managed to save the situation and you have the ghigh beams to thank for that. I haven't riden my 250 too much, but as soon as it's dark enouhg for me to have trouble seeing the road ahead I turn on the high beams, just in case.

"electronic headlight modulator ",,i never seen one.I often in by traffic turn ON the H beam to be sure they see me.

That's a common misunderstanding of how these operate. They are solid-state electronics that pulse the filament, not a simple on-and-off switch.
